About the Parade

Since 1986, the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association (WCFHBA) has showcased the region’s finest homes through our annual Parade of Homes. This year’s Parade will be truly exciting as we highlight the unique lifestyle experienced by those of us fortunate enough to call Southeastern North Carolina home.

The Parade is the ultimate opportunity to view a variety of new homes built by talented local builders, all of whom are members of WCFHBA. Whether you are a long time resident or a first-time visitor to our beautiful area, our Parade is sure to have something that will catch your eye. For two full weekends, we showcase the best and brightest that the building industry has to offer as we work to make your real estate dreams a reality.

Traditionally, the spring buying season is one of the busiest times in real estate, and the Parade of Homes has played a major role for 34 years. This year, our lives have been turned upside down, and our industry has faced many challenges brought on by the novel coronavirus. But, just like every other challenge or adverse situation that we have faced, our community has persevered. I have personally watched our community unite and work together to lift each other up by supporting our local businesses and sharing resources where and when they could be shared.

This year’s Parade showcases the grit and determination of our industry by highlighting the talents and craftsmanship of our region’s finest home builders and master artisans. It also provides a one-of-a-kind opportunity to tour new homes and discover the latest in new technologies, products, and finishes. We are proud of the role our members play in making homeownership the American dream of so many and in the role we play in providing homes, jobs, and a strong tax base to our local communities.”

You may have noticed that this year’s Parade already has a little different look and feel to it from prior years. With the COVID-19 pandemic still gripping our nation, we have had to make some adjustments and adapt to a new normal, just as you have. While this has been challenging for everyone involved, it has also created opportunities to explore and execute new ideas.

One of the most notable changes involved converting our traditional plan book into a fully immersive digital experience through a new interactive website built around you, the consumer. Explore 63 different homes, get to know the 32 different builders, view home descriptions, view photos and floor plans, take 3D virtual tours, and see the latest in construction, design, and furnishings.

This platform presents the Parade in a way that has never been done before, while at the same time reduce the spread of the virus as we work to create low-touch points.”

Chartered in 1965, the Wilmington-Cape Fear Home Builders Association (WCFHBA) is an ever-growing member-firm trade organization boasting over 1,000 members.
